Job Summary and Responsibilities
Northridge Hospital Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Dietitian to join our dynamic Nutrition Services team. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate skilled and evidence-based practitioner responsible for providing comprehensive medical nutrition therapy to a diverse patient population within our acute care setting. This role is integral to patient recovery disease management and optimizing health outcomes through expert nutritional interventions and education.
- Conduct thorough nutritional assessments including review of medical history lab values anthropometrics and dietary intake to identify patients at nutritional risk.
- Provide clear concise and evidence-based nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families empowering them to make informed dietary choices for discharge and long-term health.
- Develop implement and monitor individualized medical nutrition therapy (MNT) care plans for adult and/or pediatric patients with various medical conditions (e.g. critical illness diabetes renal disease CVD oncology GI disorders surgical recovery).
- Maintain accurate timely and comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelors Degree with completion of an accredited dietetics program (ACEND - Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics).
- Valid registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
