Job Summary

Join Caterpillars fastest-growing division in Griffin GA as a Material Handler II where youll play a key role in supporting logistics operations that keep our production running this hands-on role youll be responsible for moving storing and preparing materials using various equipment while ensuring safety and efficiency. This is a great opportunity to grow your skills in a dynamic team-oriented environment with a company known for innovation and excellence.

What You Will Do

  • Cross-train in shipping receiving and material handling/storage.

  • Read work orders or follow verbal instructions to identify materials or containers to be moved.

  • Load and unload materials by hand onto/from pallets trays racks and shelves.

  • Secure materials in vehicles using strapping bracing or padding to prevent damage during transit.

  • Transport materials using forklifts pallet jacks and carts to designated areas.

  • Count weigh and record quantities of materials handled on daily production sheets.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area by consolidating materials and following 5S procedures.

  • Properly dispose of scrap materials.

  • Assemble crates for material containment.

  • Perform pre-shift safety checks on equipment and handling tools.

  • Promote and maintain a Safety Driven workplace.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Have:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Minimum of 2 months experience in a machining manufacturing or warehouse environment or industry certification

  • Ability to work well with others

  • Ability to read write and interpret documents in English

  • General knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel Word and/or PowerPoint

  • Ability to adhere to safety procedures

What Will Put You Ahead:

  • Experience working with internal warehouse management systems (WMS)

  • Previous experience and/or certification in operating forklifts tugger and/or other power equipment

  • Previous experience working in a logistics environment supporting assembly of products

  • Previous experience with Standard Operating Procedures or Standard Work

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to occasionally lift parts up to 35 lbs. individually or up to 70 lbs. with a team lift

  • The ability to bend reach and squat while performing tasks

  • The ability to wear required personal protective equipment for assigned tasks

  • The ability to work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures

  • The ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods while performing tasks

Summary Pay Range:

$19.31 - $24.42
