Job Summary

This role is on-site in Sanford NC.

Conduct wet-chemistry and instrumental analytical chemistry analysis on in-process final batch concentrate (FBC) monovalent bulk concentrate (MBC) sample types.

Preparing analytical standards buffers and reagents.
Setting up and performing various bioanalytical and colorimetric assays such as: ELISAs (direct indirect Sandwich or competitive) SDS-PAGE Lowry/BCA/Bradford DNA Picogreen Western blots qPCR and Capillary Electrophoresis (CE).
Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments such as spectrophotometers nanodrop Maurice or PA800 plus (icIEF/CE) chromatography systems Real-time PCR instruments pH/conductivity meters various scales/balances centrifuges automated liquid handling units etc.
Calculating results using Excel spreadsheets and/or instrumental software (Compass Softmax Empower etc.)
Documenting results in electronic laboratory notebooks and reviewing notebooks of peers
Supporting senior analytical chemists on various projects as assigned
Utilizing technical knowledge to identify troubleshoot and assist with resolution of process problems

Due to close work with specific bacterial strains the following vaccinations will be offered by the company:

Blood Borne Pathogens (Hep B)
(Pneumovax 23)
(Menactra)
(Tdap)

Qualifications :

BS in Chemistry or Biochemistry with a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a laboratory environment
Experience working with proteins or carbohydrates
Authorization to work in the United States
Reliable daily transportation - the site location is not accessible by public transportation options.

Desired Qualifications:

Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as strong computer skills
Organized self-motivated and capable of working independently or in a collaborative environment.

Additional Information :

Position is full-time Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Sanford NC are encouraged to apply.
