Job title: Senior Marine Account Handler
Salary: Up to 80000
Location: London
PURPOSE OF ROLE
We are working with a growing boutique Lloyds broker specialising in Marine Insurance with offices across major global maritime hubs. Due to continued expansion they are seeking an experienced Senior Account Handler to join their London team. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in Marine Hull & War along with proven experience in the London Market.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handle a personal portfolio of marine accounts.
- Provide technical support to placing brokers within the Hull & War team.
- Prepare accurate client documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
- Create open market MRCs facility declaration off-slips and endorsements.
- Submit MRC slips to Whitespace and/or send agreements directly to underwriters.
- Manage renewals and adjustments efficiently ensuring timely completion.
- Process risks into internal systems generating debit/credit notes and issuing closings to underwriters.
- Calculate and process premiums across Hull & War placements.
- Complete A&S submissions of premium LPANs to DXC Technologies.
- Resolve client and market queries promptly and professionally.
- Work closely with Accounts/Finance teams to monitor payments and assist with reconciliations.
- Support international offices and collaborate with colleagues across the business.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing.
- Participate in weekly team meetings and ad hoc technical projects.
DAY-TO-DAY
- Manage daily technical processing and account documentation.
- Liaise directly with underwriters clients and brokers to ensure smooth placement and servicing of risks.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in all broking documentation and reporting.
- Prioritise workload to meet deadlines while maintaining excellent client service standards.
- Ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 10 years experience in the London Insurance Market.
- Strong Marine Hull & War experience ideally with multinational exposure.
- Proven ability to produce and review MRC slips and endorsements.
- Sound understanding of premium processing and A&S submissions.
- Experience supporting or overseeing the work of junior team members.
- Previous experience with electronic placing platforms (Whitespace desirable).
SKILLS
- Excellent technical knowledge of Marine Insurance.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented approach with flexibility and accountability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook).
- CII qualifications (or working towards) preferred.
- Additional language skills particularly Italian are advantageous.

We are working with a growing boutique Lloyds broker specialising in Marine Insurance with offices across major global maritime hubs. Due to continued expansion they are seeking an experienced Senior Account Handler to join their London team.
