Job Summary
POSITION:Welder Level 2/3
DAY SHIFT: Monday - Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm (OT as required on Fridays 6:00 am - 11:00 am)
PAY RATE: $25.00 - 29.00 per hour (DOE) Full Benefits Package
LOCATION: Fargo ND
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the safe and efficient fabrication of steel products. The Welder II is a mid-level welding position with all work being completed with some supervision.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Embrace and demonstrate the qualities of the TrueNorth Steel Game Changer definition.
- Follow all company safety and quality requirements.
- Mastered all aspects of level 1 position
- Qualified in welding disciplines required for the facility
- Able to work on semi routine assignments
- Requires minimal help from supervisor on new tasks
- Shows initiative to recognize areas of opportunity within current standard procedures
- Maintains technical qualifications required for positions
- Prompt and dependable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND QUALITIES
- Exhibit knowledge of material identification equipment utilization and welding equipment set-up and maintenance.
- Fits and welds subassemblies into final position with flat or horizontal welds
- Accurately measures to specified tolerances
- Performs flat and horizontal welding
- Advanced knowledge of weld symbols
- Basic oxy fuel and/or carbon arcing
- Able to final inspect welds
- Able to do basic Layouts
- Understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to read a tape measure (imperial and metric).
- Ability to work with others.
- Ability to work safely and accurately.
- Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
- Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.
- Ability to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 2 years of welding experience preferred.
