MUST HAVES:
- 5 years experience in Digital UX Research and Design
- Demonstrated experience in conducting users research and user consultation
- Leads and conducts interviews and workshops to validate pre-Discovery hypothesis in order to assess clients business problems/opportunities (technology agnostic) to inform a subsequent internal technology scan conceptual architecture design Solution Options Analysis and Treasure Board business case development.
Key UX Research and Design experience must include: - Creation of personas to illustrate important user groups and highlight key characteristics and preferences.
- Creation of journey maps to illustrate important user groups pain points and opportunities throughout the service.
- Identification of key features to include in the development of a prototype.
- Deliverables include: User Research Report Personas User Journey Maps and other research artifacts as requested.
- Lead the synthesis of user research insights and artifacts.
Description - To respond to the priorities of the Government of Ontario through the passage of the Bill 5 Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act 2025 the resource may be partially assigned to Bill 5 related projects or initiatives on an as needed basis.
- Responsibilities Utilizing qualitative and quantitative methods conduct research of user behaviours digital needs and motivations Design the research plan with clear objectives targeting users based on their needs and challenges Write usability discussion guides to moderate user research sessions and document responses Take a user-centered design approach and analyze survey data to document recommendations based on the goals of the project and the needs of the users General Skills Relevant experience creating data-driven user research strategies Experience as a UX researcher or similar role designing for web and mobile applications Proficiency with research documentation tools Thorough understanding of the limitations and appropriate use of web development technologies Experience in designing online programs with emphasis in the emotional aspects of human experience Experience conceiving and conducting usability testing A/B testing surveys user observation and interviews Experience collaborating with designers and stakeholders to understand business requirements Experience transforming design research into insightful analysis Experience making strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core and new functions and features Experience gathering user feedback to configure existing interfaces A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines managing competing priorities and client relationship management experience Desirable Skills: Knowledge of human-computer interaction

- Demonstrated experience working with clients and technical teams to ensure effective resolution of defects and management of change request are complete
Agile and Public Sector Experience - 15% - Experience in managing user stories with Agile SCRUM Lean DevOps methodologies
- Demonstrated experience with agile sprint management bug tracking and testing life cycle management using Azure DevOps
- Thorough understanding of SDLC specifically QA processes in agile development environments
- Demonstrated experience with agile sprint management bug tracking and testing life cycle management using Azure DevOps
- Previous experience working in Government or Public Sector organizations
- Demonstrated experience in Ontario Design System
