Job Summary

Description
Responsibilities
- Required to translate technical systems specifications into working tested applications. This includes:
- developing detailed programming specifications
- writing and/or generating code
- compiling data-driven programs maintaining and conducting unit tests
- Resolves and troubleshoots technical problems which arise during the use and operation of software packages including technical assistance in implementation conversion and migrations
Skills
Experience and Skill Set Requirements
Core Development Skills
- Extensive experience across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) including design coding testing debugging deployment and maintenance.
- Proficient in Java and related technologies including Spring Boot JPA EJB Angular NodeJS Jasper Reports and PDF generation.
- Strong experience in building and integrating RESTful and SOAP-based web services.
- Skilled in developing microservices-based applications and distributed systems.
Cloud and amp; DevOps
- Hands-on experience with and nbsp;Azure Cloud and nbsp;services and and nbsp;DevOps and nbsp;practices including CI/CD pipelines containerization (e.g. Docker) and infrastructure automation.
- Experience in preparing deployment packages and coordinating releases across multiple environments.
Business Rules and amp; Integration
- Proven expertise in developing complex applications using and nbsp;IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM).
- Experience integrating with and nbsp;IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW) and nbsp;for process orchestration and automation.
- Experience with and nbsp;JEE application servers including and nbsp;IBM WebSphere and nbsp;and and nbsp;Liberty 8.x.
- Familiarity with middleware gateways and various communication protocols.
Database and amp; Data Migration
- Strong experience with and nbsp;PL/SQL including writing complex queries stored procedures and nbsp;migration scripts and designing and nbsp;staging tables and nbsp;for data transformation and migration.
- Proficient in relational and hierarchical database technologies.
Content Management Systems
- Experience working with and nbsp;OpenText Content Management System APIs with a focus on updating and maintaining metadata accuracy and integrity.
Accessibility and amp; Standards Compliance
- Experience developing and nbsp;AODA-compliant user interfaces and accessible documents (including PDFs).
- Familiarity with Ontario Government IT standards (GO-ITS 54) and accessibility best practices.
Public Sector Experience
- Experience working with and nbsp;permitting platforms and nbsp;within the and nbsp;Ontario Public Service (OPS) and nbsp;or other and nbsp;public sector environments including integration with enterprise systems and compliance with government standards.
Agile and amp; Collaboration
- Comfortable working in and nbsp;Agile Scrum and nbsp;environments and rapid application development (RAD) frameworks.
- Effective team player with excellent analytical problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Experienced in collaborating with business analysts QA and system architects throughout the development lifecycle.
Documentation
- Experience updating and maintaining and nbsp;design and architecture documentation and nbsp;to reflect evolving system components and integration points.
- Skilled in producing technical documentation deployment guides and user/system manuals.
Quality Assurance and amp; Estimation
- Committed to delivering defect-free well-tested code through unit functional load and regression testing.
- Skilled in conducting design/code reviews and providing accurate effort estimates.
- Experienced in reporting progress in and nbsp;Kanban and nbsp;settings and leading project meetings.
