Description
We are currently seeking a skilled MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Pathology . As a Pathologist you will play a crucial role in diagnosing diseases through the examination of bodily fluids tissues and organs. Your expertise will be vital in providing accurate and timely diagnoses contributing to the overall healthcare system. You will be involved in a variety of projects from analyzing laboratory samples to collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best patient care outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Examine and analyze laboratory samples to identify abnormalities or diseases.
- Interpret test results and communicate findings to other healthcare providers.
- Collaborate with physicians surgeons and other medical professionals to determine the best course of treatment for patients.
- Conduct research to improve diagnostic techniques and treatment methods.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and standards for quality and safety in the laboratory.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and treatment plans.
- Provide expertise and guidance to laboratory staff on sample collection and processing.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in Pathology and incorporate new knowledge into practice.
Requirements:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in Pathology.
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Florida.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in diagnostic procedures.
- Experience working with laboratory equipment and technology.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8a-5p
Frozen/Consult Call: 1 weekend every 6 weeks 1 weeknight every 3 weeks
Annual Volume: 2900 cases
Big focus on interstitial lung diseases and lung transplant
Cytopathology skills preferred not required
Academic position will work with residents and fellows
EMR: Cerner Epic
Must be board-certified
