Job Summary

This is a remote position.

The Data Entry Typist will play a key role in supporting Sunrift Adventures back-office operations by accurately entering organizing and updating data that helps keep inventory sales customer records and rental information current and reliable. This role requires strong attention to detail good typing speed and comfort working with databases or spreadsheets in a fast-moving retail environment that serves outdoor enthusiasts.



Key Responsibilities

  • Enter and update data in company systems (e.g. inventory management pointofsale records customer rentals vendor invoices) with accuracy and timely turnaround.

  • Review source documents (purchase orders shipping receipts rental agreements) for completeness and accuracy before entry.

  • Maintain spreadsheets and databases: create new entries update existing records correct errors and reconcile discrepancies.

  • Assist with data audits and clean-up tasks to ensure data integrity (duplicate records outdated entries mismatched fields).

  • Collaborate with sales rental and inventory teams to gather data inputs clarify missing information and ensure the backend records reflect the front-line activity (sales rentals returns).

  • Generate regular reports (e.g. daily sales summary inventory status rental usage) and provide to management or team leads as requested.

  • Ensure confidentiality of sensitive data (customer personal info vendor pricing) and follow company data-protection policies.

  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed (filing scanning documents supporting the retail team when volumes are high) to keep operations running smoothly.




Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in business administration or office technology is a plus.

  • Proven experience in data entry clerical work or office administrationpreferably in a retail or inventorydriven environment.

  • Excellent typing skills (50 words per minute preferred) and strong accuracyability to spot and correct errors.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (or similar spreadsheet software) basic database navigation and comfortable learning new software tools.

  • Excellent attention to detail strong organizational skills ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic retail environment.

  • Strong communication skillsable to liaise with front-of-house staff inventory/warehouse teams and management to clarify data and follow up when needed.

  • Reliable punctual able to work a flexible schedule (including occasional evenings or weekends) when needed.

  • A passion for the outdoors and familiarity with outdoor gear or retail environment is a plusfits with Sunrifts culture of being an outdoor outfitter.

Required Skills:

Friendly energetic with strong communication and listening skills. Passionate about the outdoors; experience or comfort with outdoor gear is a plus. Detail-oriented; able to multitask and work efficiently even during busy times. Reliable punctual and able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Able to lift equipment (e.g. boxes or gear) up to moderate weight (e.g. 40-50 lbs) safely. Comfortable standing for long periods and moving around the store.
