As Associate Director you will be responsible for developing and supporting the Chemical Market Analytics polyolefins practice in the Americas by providing polyethylene and polypropylene market research and insights. You will provide thought leadership related to supply demand price and economics as well as competitive dynamics and changing structural elements of the industry. You will utilize analytical approaches to enhance insight and deliver value to clients. You will report to the Research & Analysis Executive Director.

Provide unique neutral and objectively written Polyolefins Market Advisory Service content & commentary on price trends supply/demand outlooks and current events affecting the various markets for weekly monthly and annual market insight publications
Conduct primary research related to producer capacities operating status production costs supply/demand balance trade flows pricing new projects general market dynamics individual company analysis and econometric modeling
Maintain the North America and Latin America production capacity database and supply-demand balances and price forecasts
Build North American and Latin America polyolefins industry contact relationships across producers consumers distributors traders and the financial community
Provide polyolefin related market expertise for Chemical Market Analytics Consulting projects and Sales client development
Support the Circular Plastics Service relative to analyzing circular plastics trends impacting polyolefins markets
Identify new business opportunities for sales and consulting follow-up
At least 10 years chemical industry experience which includes polyolefins product knowledge and direct commercial experience
Established relationships with key polyolefins buy and sell side market participants at multiple levels including executive management
Knowledge and understanding of the polyolefin technologies applicable to producers and processors
Understanding of recycling and sustainability initiatives for plastics
Technical experience with econometric market models and use of spreadsheets databases and business intelligence tools and applications
Effectively communicated complex information to large and small audiences in an organized and concise manner
Bachelors Degree in chemical engineering chemistry economics or related disciplines -OR- equivalent work experience
No domestic or international travel restrictions
Verbal and written Spanish and/or Portuguese language competency (a plus)
