Job Summary

We are seeking a self-motivated organised and energetic person to support our residents live life their way within the Waimea Plains village - and the wider community.

As our Village Liaison you will play an important role working closely with the Village Manager partnering with our residents and building relationships with external allied health services across the region.

Each day will guarantee variety and engagement where you will be responsible for:

  • identifying residents who may require health and wellness support and working with them to explore their options
  • coordinating primary health promotion education and preventative information
  • supporting referrals to higher levels of care where appropriate
  • seeking opportunities in our regular resident meetings to promote Arvidas Attitude of Living Well
  • participating in and providing training as required

While you will not be responsible for undertaking and executing clinical assessments or treatments there is an opportunity to provide agreed clinical services (such as immunisation or first aid support) where appropriate and within professional scope and credentials should that be of interest.

This is a great role for someone passionate about working with older New Zealanders with a genuine community-focused and purpose-led mindset.


Qualifications :

  • Relevant tertiary qualification professional qualification and/or a minimum of 3 years community-based heath or social service sector experience
  • Previous aged care sector experience with a passion for engaging and empowering older people to lead life their way
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills including the ability to achieve goals with others
  • Understanding of and commitment to person-centered care and Arvidas Attitude of Living Well philosophy
  • Self-motivated with excellent organisational time management and problem-solving skills
  • Strong community liaison and promotion skills
  • NZ Full Drivers License
  • NZ First Aid Certificate and advanced CPR Certificate
