Job Summary
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a full-time permanent Technician to join our Microbiology Team at the Lynfield Laboratory. This vital role within our Reading Bench Team focuses on maintaining laboratory cleanliness and managing waste disposal and sterilization. Youll be trained to use a specialized Autoclave playing a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of our department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the Autoclave following strict Standard Operating Procedures.
- Adhere to all laboratory and regulatory quality assurance procedures.
- Keep all relevant records up to date.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
- Participate in and contribute to safety practices.
- Engage in day-to-day improvement activities.
Work Environment:
Our laboratory operates 7 days a week and flexibility for overtime at short notice is ideal. The role includes at least one weekend day as part of your roster with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Shift work is involved with hours between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm.
About You:
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment with familiarity in sanitation duties.
- Some understanding of microbiology testing (preferred).
- Good hand-eye coordination and strong attention to detail.
- Familiar with manual handling procedures and able to lift 10kg with ease
- Ability to work under pressure with excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Clear communication skills both written and verbal.
