Summary
Multi-craft position that installs dismantles inspects observes troubleshoots services and repairs industrial equipment hydraulic and pneumatic for mechanically driven and/or electrical industrial machinery. Will do basic PLC (Programmable Logic Control) troubleshooting. Follows detailed job specific instructions to ensure processes and procedures are followed in an efficient and productive manner. Works under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Wears appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) which may include fall protection respiratory protection hearing protection foot hand head and eye protection.
- Uses proper lifting and ergo techniques.
- Proactively promotes The McWane Way Principles.
- Inspects operates or tests machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction.
- Plans and lays out repair work using diagrams drawings maintenance manuals schematics or other specifications to determine repair or installation procedures.
- Requests equipment and supplies for maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.
- Transports a variety of tools equipment and supplies to ensure the availability of materials required at job site.
- Diagnoses mechanical problems and determines how to correct them referencing manuals draws or catalogs as needed.
- Dismantles machines equipment or devices to access and remove defective parts using hoists cranes hand tools or power tools.
- Installs replaces changes or repairs machine parts and attachments according to production specifications using tools such as hammers hoists saws drills wrenches or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or testing equipment.
- Cleans or lubricates shafts bearings gears or other parts of machinery.
- Uses basic cutting and welding skills.
- Records production repair and machine maintenance information.
- Electronically completes CMMS work orders to identify problems and logging man hours for time worked per work order.
- Communicates with supervisor team lead and/or other trades workers to coordinate installations and complete projects or repairs.
- Works with the team to reduce/eliminate bottlenecks to reach team goals.
- Works on continuous improvement projects.
- Maintains troubleshoots and installs industrial control systems.
- Understands and uses rigging in the use of cranes and hoists.
- Runs and bends conduit to NEC (National Electrical Code) Code Standards.
- Pulls wires and makes wire terminations.
- Inspects electrical systems and their components to evaluate condition identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance.
- Diagnoses simple causes of electrical problems or failures for identifying equipment and/or systems repair.

Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma/GED preferred.
- Completion of a vocational certificate program in Industrial Maintenance Electrician or related program plus two years experience in industrial maintenance; or completion of a formal apprenticeship program plus two years experience in industrial maintenance; or four years experience in industrial maintenance required.
- Knowledge and ability to work on 240 480 volt three-phase power andvolt controls.
- Passing written and hands-on exams to demonstrate competency in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- You must have basic computer skills.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers clients and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract and to multiply and divide. Uses mathematics to solve problems.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
