About the opportunity
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Medical Sciences within the Tasmanian School of Medicine.
This position will focus on the delivery of high-quality medical education including teaching foundational medical sciences across a variety of disciplines and using online and on-campus learning modalities. This position will support the supply of a skilled medical workforce to Tasmania and is part of the expansion of the Medicine Program commencing in Launceston in 2026.
What youll do:
- Undertake high quality and scholarly undergraduate teaching across the medical sciences.
- Mentor and support students both at an individual and peer group level.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links.
- Seek out and engage in opportunities to continuously improve academic learning and teaching skills.
- Make an effective and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.
What were looking for:
- Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant Medical Sciences discipline.
- Experience in undergraduate University-level teaching and learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with staff students and external organisations.
- High-level organisational skills including experience adhering to safe operating procedures.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $155885 comprising base salary within the range of $114766 to $133235 plus 17% superannuation.
