Job Summary
Mechanic / Machinist
Location: Andover MA
Shift: Monday Friday 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
FTE Hourly Range: $32$35/hr

What Youll Do
Perform preventive maintenance and repair on a wide variety of production and facility equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly and effectively to minimize downtime
Work with steam systems of varying pressure levels (low medium high)
Rebuild and replace motors pumps and related mechanical components
Support compressed air and vacuum pump systems
Read and interpret technical blueprints schematics and mechanical drawings
Conduct routine equipment inspections and document findings
Collaborate with operations engineering and maintenance teams to improve equipment performance and reliability
Support equipment installations upgrades and modifications
Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide fast effective repairs
Ensure all work meets GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety compliance standards
Maintain accurate and timely maintenance records using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
What You Bring
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in mechanical engineering or related field preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience as a mechanic or machinist in a manufacturing setting; pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience is a plus
Solid understanding of mechanical systems including hydraulics and pneumatics
Familiarity with manual machining; CNC experience is helpful but not required
Hands-on experience with pumps motors vacuum systems and steam systems
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documentation
Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
Flexible and willing to work off-hours weekends or respond to urgent equipment issues when needed
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
Able to stand walk and work in various positions throughout an 8-hour shift
Comfortable working in a manufacturing setting with exposure to noise machinery and occasional chemicals
