Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY:
The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign is part of a century old tradition to contribute towards building strong communities by helping TSA to give hope to other.
Kettle Coordinator II position is a short-term contract position. The incumbent is responsible for oversight of several Christmas Kettle locations in a given geographical zone area. Zone locations include shopping malls grocery stores and retail outlets.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assist with processing unloading documenting and sorting donations of toys and food for the Christmas program and assist with preparing donated items for distribution.
- Assist with pick-ups of food and toy donations from community donors using program vehicle.
- Assist with set up and take down of toy and food Christmas hamper distribution centre.
- Assist with sorting toy donations.
- Record statistical data in a clear organized and accurate manner.
- May assist in the Kettle campaign where needed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Working Conditions:
- This is a temporary position.
- Shifts may include days afternoons evenings weekend shifts and split shifts Monday through Saturday. Applicable shifts include a ½ hour unpaid meal break.
- Flexibility in scheduling is required as the hours may increase as per operational requirements up to 37.5hrs/week
- Required to wear appropriate Salvation Army identification.
- Ability to lift/move up to 20 lbs. (11.34 kgs) in a safe manner.
- Local travel may be associated with this position.

Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements:
- Minimum of one (1) year of prior related experience working in community-based programs would be a definite asset.
- Strong skills in all Microsoft Office products and good working knowledge and experience with email and internet-based programs
- Valid Ontario Class G Drivers License personal vehicle required and insurance current copy of drivers abstract for review and verification that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army in its sole discretion is required.

- Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Armys health and safety policies and procedures.
- Honest courteous and punctual; represent the organization in a positive professional and engaging manner.
- Treat the property of The Salvation Army with due care and caution.
- Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army in its sole discretion (i.e. The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check screening.
- Ability and willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $17.61 to $22.01 with a maximum of $26.41.Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions internal equity and candidate experience skills and qualifications relevant to the role.
