M&J is expanding its Construction Management and Inspection Services into Washington DC Maryland and Virginia and were looking for talented professionals to join our team!We currently have a business development office in Rockville MD and are actively building our local technical team to support upcoming transportation infrastructure projects. We are seeking multiple highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Inspectors with 36 years of experience to oversee and document construction activities in accordance with contract documents specifications and applicable codes. The ideal candidates should have a strong working knowledge of construction practices materials and standards and can independently monitor work for compliance while maintaining clear communication with contractors engineers and stakeholders.

• Conduct field inspections of construction work to ensure compliance with project drawings specifications building codes and safety regulations.

• Monitor and document progress on various phases of construction (e.g. site prep concrete structural utilities roadways).

• Review contractor submittals materials and workmanship to verify adherence to project standards.

• Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports daily logs photos and field notes.

• Identify document and report non-conformances and assist in resolving construction issues.

• Participate in progress meetings and coordinate with project managers engineers and contractors.

• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety protocols.

• Assist with quantity verification for payment estimates and change order evaluations.

• Support final inspections punch lists and project closeout activities.

• Bachelors degree in construction management civil engineering or related field preferred.

• Experience with VDOT MDOT DDOT or WMATA construction projects preferred.
• Familiarity with VDOT Road and Bridge specifications and OSHA safety standards.

• 36 years of experience in construction inspection or field engineering roles.

• Familiarity with construction documents standards (e.g. ASTM ACI AASHTO) and relevant local building codes.

• Proficiency in inspection documentation and construction management software (e.g. SiteManager PlanGrid Bluebeam MS Office etc.).

• Strong understanding of construction safety procedures and best practices.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Valid drivers license and ability to travel to job sites.
