An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Senior Hydrogeologist to join a growing consultancy team working on a wide range of water-related projects across the UK.
The Opportunity
Due to continued growth recent success with major new clients and future expansion plans the organisation is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to support and lead projects across sectors such as minerals waste agriculture housing and the environment.
This is a chance to work alongside a team of experienced technical specialists develop your expertise and play a key role in delivering high-quality hydrogeological assessments.
The successful candidate will:
- Apply detailed and practical knowledge of groundwater systems to provide both qualitative and quantitative assessments.
- Demonstrate strong analytical numerical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams clients and regulators.
- Take ownership of tasks while contributing to a collaborative working culture.
- Have the opportunity to shape the future direction of the hydrogeological function within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-standard hydrogeological assessments with minimal supervision
- Liaise confidently with clients and regulatory bodies (EA NRW SEPA)
- Write and review technical reports
- Manage tasks within tight deadlines and budget constraints
- Support or lead groundwater modelling (where applicable)
- Travel to project sites across the UK (and potentially overseas)
Requirements
- A minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant subject with a postgraduate qualification in hydrogeology or related field
- At least 2 years experience in a consultancy or similar setting
- Strong understanding of UK regulatory requirements (EA NRW SEPA LLFAs)
- Analytical skills to quantify groundwater flow
- Excellent writing communication and organisational abilities
- Commercial awareness and budget management experience
- Familiarity with groundwater modelling software (desirable)
- GIS proficiency (desirable)
- Full UK driving licence
