Jenny is a woman in her seventies living independently in her own home in the Bedford area. Several years ago she was involved in a road traffic accident that resulted in a brain injury and epilepsy. She is now wheelchair-bound and unable to mobilise independently.
Jenny requires full support with all aspects of daily living including personal care and medication administration. Due to the moving and handling requirements she receives 2:1 care. She enjoys spending time in the community relaxing in front of the TV after lunch and engaging in friendly conversationespecially about her love of flowers.
We welcome candidates with good cookery skills as Jenny appreciates home-cooked meals and a warm sociable atmosphere.
This is an opportunity to join a well-established care team with some carers having been in post for over a decade.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in care
- Fluent English speaker with strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Experienced driver
- Cooking skills
- Background in supporting individuals with epilepsy and brain injuries is desirable but not essential.
Working Hours:
Full time
Full-time 38.5 hrs (3-4 days a week)
Possibility to work over-time on as and when needed basis
Rates of Pay:
Weekdays: 14.50 per hour
Weekends: 16.50 per hour
On bank holidays you will be paid double your usual hourly rate.
All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Adult and Child Workforce Barring.
Full training will be provided.
