Forklift / Wheel Loader Operator
Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma GED or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of three years of heavy civil construction experience preferred
- Experience with forklift and wheel loader required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promotes executes and adheres to the companys Health Safety and Environmental program.
- Operates construction equipment used in underground construction base preparation and construction and paving.
- Operates all heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Performs daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
- Conducts pre-operational checks on equipment as well as cleans lubricates and refills the equipment as necessary. Fills out the pre-use inspection form prior to operating equipment.
- Maneuvers heavy equipment into loading and unloading positions. Follows signals from loading crew as needed. Checks that the vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
- Ensures a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.
- Uses various pieces of equipment to perform fine grading and finishing sloping and banking backfilling demolition ditching loading excavating and stockpiling.
- Operates equipment on public roadways as necessary maintaining proper awareness of ones surroundings.
- Performs routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the equipment.
- Performs other duties or tasks as required based on companys needs.
