DescriptionIn accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient & staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Under the general supervision of the Program Coordinator participates as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in Child Youth and Family Mental Health Services. Provides evening and night supervision to children/youth with mental health concerns. Monitors the environment to ensure a safe milieu.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
Graduation from a recognized recreational program plus one years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to organize work.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position such as: ability to remain awake throughout night shift and perform tasks in a manner that supports the milieu.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
