Job Description:
- Patient Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients undergoing ECMO therapy ensuring vital signs oxygenation and blood flow parameters are within safe limits.
- ECMO Machine Operation: Assist in the setup maintenance and operation of the ECMO machine ensuring proper function and troubleshooting any issues.
- Clinical Assessment: Perform regular assessments of patients including assessing for complications like bleeding infection or thrombosis and document any changes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including physicians respiratory therapists and perfusionists to develop and implement care plans.
- Patient Care: Administer medications provide wound care and support patients through their critical illness while maintaining ECMO therapy.
- Education and Support: Educate patients and families about ECMO therapy its purpose and potential outcomes. Provide emotional support during difficult times.
