Job Summary

Example of Duties:
This is a full-time paid training opportunity is designed for individuals seeking certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Cadets will attend the Robeson County EMS EMT Academy following a structured course schedule while also participating in supervised shift work to gain practical EMS experience.

Upon successful completion of the RCEMS EMT academy and passing the North Carolina State EMT certification exam cadet will be promoted to full-time EMT status within Robeson County EMS. Reports to the EMS Training Department.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Valid North Carolina drivers license required upon hire and duration of employment. Out of state drivers license will be accepted only if the individual is a permanent resident of that state.
Must be able to meet physical academic and behavioral expectations of the academy.
Must be flexible as services operate on a 24-hour clock. Your work schedule may vary due to the nature of the business.
Must commit to and sign a 24 -month agreement to work full-time for Robeson County EMS.
Must successfully pass the RCEMS EMT Academy and the NCOEMS EMT state test within the designated time frame set forth by the Academy.
Must take and successfully pass a pre-employment drug test Motor Vehicle Records driver license check as well as submit to random reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug and alcohol testing. A criminal background check must be completed by the County of Robeson for potential applicants.
