Summer Staff Conference Center Food Retail Team Lead

Position Objective:

The Food Retail Team Lead provides oversight and leadership for Food Retail Assistants at Heartwood (coffee bar) and the Fountain ensuring quality customer service in a manner consistent with MHAs mission vision and values.

General Qualifications:

The Food Retail Team Lead is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work stewardship relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon Association Inc.s (MHA) mission vision and beliefs. They are responsible for defining cultivating and leading MHAs Christian community conference programs and retreats.

Key Job Accountabilities:

• Provide encouragement and direction leading by example and acting as supervisor when Manager is unavailable.
• Provide prompt courteous service to customers.
• Reconcile and deposit daily sales to ensure cash drawers are reconciled properly at the end of the day.
• Make change daily or as needed to ensure cash drawers have sufficient change.
• Ensure team is preparing food and drink orders using proper sanitation controls as well as quality and quantity control of food and drink at Heartwood and Fountain.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
• Organize and stock supplies and displays.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Food Retail Assistants

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

• At least one year of college.
• Food Handlers card.
• Serve Safe Certificate preferred.

Work Experience:

• Previous food retail or sales experience is preferred.
• Cash handling experience preferred.

• Ability to articulate gospel of Jesus Christ as communicated in Scripture.
• Mature understanding and respect for authority and peers as well as camp guidelines and principles.
• Ability to learn how to use a cash register and make accurate cash and credit transactions.
• General accounting skills relating to retails sales are preferred.

Physical Demands:

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold wet/humid and dry/arid conditions. Requires sitting standing squatting stooping twisting and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age due to the requirement for onsite community living.
• Will be assigned a secondary role(s).
• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Must agree to and comply with MHAs employee driving guidelines for MHA-owned vehicles and use of personal vehicles for business purposes.
• Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
• Satisfactory completion of background investigation as well as ability to provideproof of eligibility to work in the United States.
