THE POSITIONThe Public Health Nurse (PHN) Manager serves a vital leadership role within the Solano County Health & Social Services Department. This position is responsible for planning organizing and directing the work of professional and support staff engaged in one or more public health programs while serving as a clinical and administrative resource for a multidisciplinary team that provides comprehensive health social and behavioral health services to the community.
The PHN Manager assists in the development and implementation of goals objectives policies and procedures and assumes significant responsibility for the preparation oversight and administration of assigned budgets and contracts. The position ensures that all program activities are completed efficiently and in compliance with applicable laws regulations and County policies.
Key Responsibilities:
The PHN Manager also serves as:
Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) Administrator.
A member of the Department Division Maternal Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH) Bureau and Nursing Leadership Teams.
The Public Health Nursing representative on the Solano County Committee for Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC) providing leadership and advocacy for the healthcare needs of the MCAH population.
This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced public health nursing professional to lead innovative programs that advance maternal child and adolescent health outcomes and strengthen community wellness across Solano County.
The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill full-time regular part-time limited-term or extra-help positions as vacancies occur or the need arises.Experience: Three (3) years of general public health or mental health nursing experience depending on area of assignment which includes one year of supervisory and/or program coordinator responsibility.
Education/Training:Bachelors degree is required from an accredited college or university in Public Health or Nursing administration. A Masters degree is desirable.
