Location: Miltec UV - Stevensville Maryland
Reports To: Manufacturing Manager
Employment Type: Full Time 40 hours per week
Shift: Monday through Thursday 7 am - 5:30 pm (30 minute lunch break)

About the Role

Miltec UV is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Bulb Division as aQuartz Fabricator. This position is ideal for candidates looking to build a career in this hands-on role you will form and shape precision quartz bulbs used in microwave UV curing equipment contributing directly to our production.

Key Responsibilities

As a Quartz Fabricator I you will:

Perform quartz fabrication tasks necessary to produce precision quartz bulbs including:
- Operating oxygen/propane torches
- Snap cutting quartz
- Using laboratory glass washers and auto lathes
- Preparing quartz blanks and managing furnace operations
- Tip-off procedures at pump/flush stations
- Packing
- Equipment maintenance
- Conducting product testing
- Follow detailed work instructions and procedures
- Inspect and test quartz fabrications using tools fixtures and gauges
- Promote and adhere to safe shop practices
- Maintain accurate records in both written and electronic formats
- Actively learn all of the responsibilities of a Quartz Fabricator I II III.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Meet the qualifications of a Quartz Fabricator by demonstrating proficiency in basic quartz fabrication techniques and a readiness to advance in skill and responsibility.

Education & Experience:

High school coursework with a strong interest and aptitude in mathematics and science
Associate degree in science or college-level courses in math/science a plus
Prior experience with glass fabrication or glass operations including cutting shaping or tempering glass a plus

Physical Requirements

Ability to push pull carry and lift to 30 lbs.
Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Good vision (corrected or uncorrected)
Ability to stand or sit for up to 8 hours
Must be able to bend stoop and crouch without limitations

Work Environment

Manufacturing shop environment with exposure to quartz fabrication processes
