Senior Advisor Youth Services Division The Senior Advisor will play a critical role in supporting the efficient and effective operation of the divisions overseen by the Associate Commissioner. The Senior Advisor will act as a key advisor strategist and implementer supporting in executing the agencys mission and strategic goals. The Senior Advisor will assist in the development and implementation of accountability metrics to ensure accomplishment of the divisions goals as well as smooth effective and efficient addition the Senior Advisor will provide strategic support with respect to the coordination of new initiatives unit-wide projects as well as the development and amendment of multi-year plans and improvement strategies for the agency. Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategic plans for the division.
- Monitor progress and ensure alignment with Youth Services and DYCDs overall mission and objectives.
- Collect and analyze program data to inform policy development and improve school-CBO partnerships.
- Lead critical cross-functional initiatives including the coordination and implementation of after-school and community partnerships
- Provide leadership and guidance on strategic planning related to high-profile cross-divisional issues.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and policies. Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Associate Commissioners office.
- Coordinate and manage special projects and initiatives across the division.
- Prepare high-level reports and make recommendations for new or revised policies aligned with Youth Services goals and outcomes.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Serve as a representative for internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among divisions to ensure seamless operations and information flow.
- Prepare presentations take notes and track action items for meetings
- Support the development and implementation of policies and programs that enhance service delivery.
- Conduct research and analysis to support informed decision-making.
- Provide technical assistance to schools and CBOs to initiate and sustain effective partnerships. Policy and Program Development:
- Support the development and implementation of policies and programs that enhance the agencys service delivery.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform decision-making and policy development.
- Develop and track performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives and programs.
- Performance Management:
- Develop and implement performance metrics to track the effectiveness of initiatives and programs.
- Provide regular reports and updates to the Associate Commissioner.
ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR OF SOC - 10056
Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and four years of progressively responsible experience in a large governmental agency business firm civic or community organization operating in the area of social services including one year at the administrative or managerial level; or
2. Education and/or experience equivalent to 1 above. Graduate education or a license may substitute for up to a maximum of three years of experience in the area of social services but not for the one year of experience at the administrative or managerial level as described in 1 above as follows:
(A)A masters degree from an accredited college or university in accounting business child welfare counseling economics education finance human resources labor relations management management science nursing operations research organizational behavior personnel or public administration political science psychology sociology social work statistics and/or urban studies may substitute for two years of experience; and/or
(B)Graduate education beyond the baccalaureate degree may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university in the area(s) listed in 2(A) above for each year of experience up to a maximum of three years; or
(C)A valid New York State Registration as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) may substitute for three years of experience.
However all candidates must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and one year of experience at the administrative or management level as described in 1 above.
