LEVEL DESIGN TRAINEE
What Youll Do
Epic is looking for a Level Design Trainee to join our Design team working on this role youll utilize your experience knowledge of design tools and sense of scale to push the visual quality of the game and delight players with fresh experiences. Level Designers at Epic are a part of a cross-discipline content team working to develop great-looking levels that expand the Fortnite universe.
In this role you will
- Work closely with level designers and environment artists to learn what makes successful Fortnite landmarks and POIs
- Work in the Unreal Engine using modular kits to design visually appealing and fun locations that follow gameplay rules
- Assist other designers by helping improve existing landmarks and POIs
- Attend playtests provide feedback and identify practical solutions to problems
What were looking for
- Unreal Engine experience is required
- Direct involvement with prop placement lighting mood/atmosphere and design markup
- Passion for games with a wide range of game knowledge
- Strong interest in BR and multiplayer games with an understanding of what makes them work
- Fast learner who meets deadlines
- Perseverance when facing frustration someone who understands that its expected to not get the assignment right in the first attempts but keep trying. Also that receives feedback well adjusts and adapts. No space for ego
- Strong communicator. Quick and effective when reaching out to the team to solve problems knows when a task is tricky enough to reach for senior teammates. Also ability to effectively sync information with multiple teams and manage to keep attention to multiple aspects at same time
This trainee program has a flexible start date in 2026. Recruitment will be ongoing until teams find an ideal match.
