You will be located in the subchapter Protein Chemistry. The department of R&D Protein Chemistry is part of to the Antibody and Protein Technologies unit of the Chapter Area Reagent Research and Design and has its focus on the development of protein-based reagents for immunological diagnostic assays
The goal of the proposed position is to evaluate develop and establish novel separation protocols as well as new conjugation strategies to extend the technical capabilities of the current protein chemistry automation workflows.
Your work will focus on the following aspects:
You will actively participate in on-going projects to optimize antibody-based reagents development in the context of high-throughput automation technologies.
You will support the routine processes with lab automation systems to prepare and analyse these reagents.
You will develop and implement a fully integrated protein purification and conjugation procedure (manual and for lab automation platform) which will include liquid handler programming.
You will review and evaluate scientific literature and present your findings.
You will work in close cooperation with several teams distributed over different departments (Protein Chemistry Antibody and Test development as well as Biostatistics).

To be successful in this role you will be or you will have:
Basic knowledge in Chemistry and Biochemistry.
Background knowledge about different protein purification strategies. First experience in protein labeling and automated liquid handling is a plus.
Basic knowledge in bioanalytical techniques. First experience in instrumental analytics is a plus (UV-Vis HPLC).
Strong interest in learning and applying new laboratory techniques for immunological reagent development.
Good proficiency in spoken and written English working knowledge of German would be beneficial.
Good MS Office knowledge. Further IT knowledge is a plus.
Able to work in a team with flexibility and engagement.
Start from February 2026 for 6 months.
