Founding Electron Engineer

San Francisco CA. On site. Full time.

Advantra is partnering with a early-stage productivity software startup in San Francisco to hire a Founding Electron Engineer to build the first desktop version of their voice dictation app.

You will build and ship the first version of a desktop voice dictation app. You will ensure the app performs well is reliable and secure. You will work closely with designers and the founding team to create features that let users control their computers with voice.

1. Build the first version of the desktop app using Electron.
   

2. Ensure app performance reliability and security.
   

3. Debug profile and optimize Electron app performance.
   

4. Work with designers to implement user-facing features.
   

5. Talk to users to understand needs and improve the app.
   

6. Maintain app packaging updates and native module integration.
   

7. Stay current on Electron tools and best practices.
   

8. Collaborate with the founding team to shape the product.
   

9. Contribute to product and platform design decisions.
   

1. 3 years building and shipping high-quality Electron apps.
   

2. Experience with React and TypeScript in Electron.
   

3. Proven ability to debug and optimize app performance.
   

4. Experience managing packaging updates and native modules.
   

5. High attention to detail and willingness to learn.
   

6. Strong understanding of product and UX principles.
   

7. Experience talking to users and incorporating feedback.
   

8. Experience shipping desktop applications used by multiple users.
   

9. Ability to work in a fast-paced ambiguous startup environment.
   

10. Portfolio or links to shipped apps demonstrating ownership.
    

1. Experience with voice-related apps or AI products.
   

2. Experience at a fast-growing startup.
   

3. Experience with real-time or multimodal products.
   

4. Knowledge of Electron performance profiling tools.
   

5. Familiarity with AI-powered desktop tools.
