Job Summary

JOB TITLE: Mechanical Engineer - DEFENSE
LOCATION: Huntsville AL
PAY RATE: $45-50/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)
Clearance: Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance (active clearance not required to start).
Schedule: 5/40 1st Shift

Summary:

Design and oversee testing of mechanical components and mechanisms for launch systems.
Assist with design modifications reviews and planning for hardware development.
Apply CREO and DSR6 (Model-Based Definition) methodologies in daily design work.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure manufacturing readiness and design integrity.
Occasional travel may be required (< 10%).

Requirements:

Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance (active clearance not required to start).
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
Proficiency with CREO and DSR6/MBD design methodologies.
Hands-on experience with mechanism design (e.g. moving assemblies linkages actuated systems).
Familiarity with tooling and MGSE (Mechanical Ground Support Equipment).
Knowledge of welded steel structures and AWS D17.1 standards.
Experience with supplier interfacing or manufacturing processes.
Background in aerospace or launch systems highly desirable.
Some travel may be required (< 10%).
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
