Job Title: IT Project Lead 2

Location: Austin TX (Hybrid Onsite once a week)

Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Lead to oversee and coordinate small-to-medium IT operational projects. The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional teams through all phases of the project lifecycle from initiation to closure while ensuring scope schedule and budget adherence. This role requires strong leadership communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to build effective relationships across IT teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage IT operational projects from initiation through closure ensuring successful delivery within defined scope schedule and budget.
• Develop and maintain essential project documentation including project scope schedule/plan communication plans cost analysis CAB documents training plans contingency plans and transition/support plans.
• Communicate project expectations progress and status updates clearly to sponsors team members and stakeholders through meetings and reports.
• Identify and manage project milestones dependencies critical paths risks and issues while developing contingency plans as needed.
• Request and coordinate project resources facilitate collaboration across departments and assign tasks to achieve project goals.
• Compile formal business and technical documentation in compliance with organizational standards.
• Use MS Project to track progress of tasks deliverables and milestones.
• Utilize tools such as MS Office Suite Teams SharePoint Visio and WebEx to manage and communicate project activities.

Required Skills & Experience (4 7 Years):

• Proven experience leading and managing IT operational projects end-to-end.
• Strong skills in developing project deliverables and maintaining project documentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Expertise in identifying risks dependencies and critical paths within projects.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project resources and cross-functional collaboration.
• Technical writing experience in a regulated or structured industry environment.
• Hands-on experience with MS Project and proficiency in Outlook Excel Word PowerPoint Teams SharePoint Visio and WebEx.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Experience using ServiceNow.
• Experience working in an Electric Utility or Municipal environment.

Additional Details:

• Hybrid role: Primarily remote with on-site presence required once a week (or as needed for project meetings).
• Candidates must reside in Travis County or nearby areas for onsite attendance as required.
