Digital Consultants seeks qualified Audio Visual Engineers to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Information Operations Enterprise Infrastructure Services Network & Telecommunication Services under the JETS 2.0 contract. This position provides on-site engineering installation maintenance and troubleshooting of Audio Visual (AV) and Video Teleconference (VTC) systems across multiple DLA Centers including Fort Belvoir Columbus and Pearl Harbor. The Audio Visual Engineer will ensure the reliability security and performance of AV/VTC IPTV and Digital Signage systems operating on NIPRNET SIPRNET and JWICS networks.
Duties to include:
- Install configure and maintain AV/VTC systems including CODECs controllers and peripheral components.
- Pull terminate and test all AV cables connectors and interfaces; read and interpret AV system blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Support up to ten (10) offsite AV/VTC events annually within 50 miles of the assigned DLA site.
- Perform diagnostic analysis to identify and resolve system hardware/software malfunctions.
- Coordinate installations and maintenance activities with DLAs Video Operations Center (VOC).
- Provide end-user training on AV/VTC equipment operations encryption multipoint conferencing and recording procedures.
- Troubleshoot and support collaboration applications such as Microsoft Teams Cisco WebApp Synergy Sky and Zoom for Government.
- Develop and maintain AV/VTC network diagrams user guides and standard configuration documentation.
- Conduct warranty coordination and vendor liaison for AV/VTC hardware and software repairs.
- Respond to DLA Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CIRT) advisories and implement required system patches and security mitigations.
- Provide technical recommendations for system upgrades lifecycle improvements and emerging AV technologies.
- Support after-hours or on-call troubleshooting as required (historically 12 incidents per year per site).
Requirements
- Deep understanding of AV/VTC technologies network integration and system interoperability across NIPR/SIPR environments.
- Proficiency in testing analysis and corrective actions for AV networks hardware and software.
- Ability to manage AV/VTC projects involving multiple vendors and government stakeholders.
- Skilled in using test and measurement tools network diagnostic utilities and configuration software.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity compliance frameworks (STIG CIRT and DoD IA requirements).
- Excellent communication documentation and customer service skills to interface with DLA personnel and leadership.
- Ability to read and apply AV system blueprints and schematics for installation and troubleshooting
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum five (5) years of directly related AV/VTC experience involving installation testing troubleshooting and lifecycle support.
- Clearance: Secret
- Education: High School or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum five (5) years of directly related AV/VTC experience involving installation testing troubleshooting and lifecycle support.
Certifications:
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g. CompTIA Security CE).
- DLA Approved CE Certification (must have at least one of these certs)
- 100-140 Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) IT Support
- 100-150 Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) Networking
- 100-160 Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) Cybersecurity.
- Preferred: Cisco CCNA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or manufacturer-specific AV certifications (e.g. Crestron Extron Poly Cisco).
