Job Summary

Summary

Under the direction of the Orthopaedic Surgery Center Director the Resource Person performs the duties and responsibilities of charge nurse for the patient populations served in the Orthopaedic Surgery Center. The Resource Person is assigned to assist in assuring a patient/family focused environment. The Resource Person demonstrates high standards of quality patient care and holds care providers accountable to clinical and service standards. The Resource Person demonstrates and coaches others to utilize critical thinking skills. He/she implements and evaluates systems that promote cost effective quality patient care. He/she is a front line member of the management team. The Resource Person is responsible for supporting and assisting in the delivery of quality patient care and professional nursing practice.

Education

Graduate from an accredited Nursing program required. Bachelors degree (BSN) from four-year college or university preferred.

Certification Registration & Licensure

Certification required to obtain: Basic Life support and ACLS certification within 3 months of hire

Licensure required: Current New Hampshire State Registered Nurse license.

Experience

Minimum of 3 years of acute care clinical experience in perioperative/perianesthesia nursing with demonstrated clinical proficiency. Previous supervisory/leadership experience desired.

Responsibilities

  • Participates engages and promotes positive activities for the centers.

  • Promotes a safe therapeutic customer-friendly environment and provides services that are delivered in a

    professional compassionate manner.

  • Assists in the oversight of clinical nursing care ensuring compliance with established standards of care

    and practice.

  • Manages patient care and transitions across the continuum.

  • Participates in the recruitment retention nurturing evaluation and development staff.

  • Assists in the planning administering and accounting for human material and educational resources as

    well as systems and processes to effectuate care and services.

  • Assists in monitoring evaluating and improving quality of care and services provided.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
