Employment Defense Attorney – California

We are seeking an accomplished Employment Defense Attorney with at least four years of litigation experience to join our legal team in California. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in employment law exceptional advocacy skills and a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for clients.

Core Responsibilities:

• Case Oversight: Manage a variety of employment-related defense cases including wrongful termination discrimination harassment wage and hour disputes and other workplace claims.

• Litigation Management: Handle all stages of litigationfrom pleadings and discovery through trial and appeal when required.

• Client Engagement: Provide timely strategic advice while maintaining consistent communication regarding case progress and strategy.

• Legal Research & Documentation: Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare motions pleadings discovery responses and other supporting documents.

• Court Representation: Participate in hearings mediations depositions arbitrations and trials as appropriate.

• Negotiation: Lead settlement discussions and utilize alternative dispute resolution methods to secure favorable resolutions.

• Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow attorneys paralegals and support staff to maintain efficiency and high client service standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

• Active membership with the California State Bar.

• Minimum of 4 years experience in employment defense litigation.

• Strong knowledge of California and federal court procedures.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proven ability to manage a substantial caseload under deadlines.

• Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Capable of working independently as well as within a team setting.

• High attention to detail and dedication to quality legal work.

Preferred Background:

• Experience handling class action and complex litigation matters.

• Prior trial experience preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to build lasting client relationships.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary: $130000 $230000 commensurate with background and experience.
