Matix Lumber services all sectors of the building industry and offer a comprehensive selection of quality lumber and building materials manufactured by North Americas leading producers. We provide contractors avid builders DIYers and community leaders the tools construction service and design expertise to support residential and commercial projects from start to finish.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to join our finance team. The FP&A Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the companys financial planning budgeting forecasting and analytical processes.


The successful candidate will have duties such as but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data analyze trends and prepare forecasts and budgets.
  • Develop financial models to support strategic decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights to senior management to drive business performance.
  • Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations to optimize financial performance.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial systems and processes to streamline operations.
  • Support ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as needed.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelors degree in finance Accounting Business or related field. MBA or CPA designation is a plus.
  • 2-4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling techniques. Experience with ERP systems is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and present findings to senior management.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive mindset with a desire to continuously improve processes and drive business growth.
  • Knowledge of BisTrack (ERP) and Great Plains (GP) systems (a strong asset)
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • High level of critical and logical thinking analysis and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles reasons or facts.
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
  • Strong time management and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to interpret and implement Company policies and procedures.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.
  • Ability to provide excellent internal customer service to other departments in the Company and being able to follow up on requests either in person or remotely when required.
