Reporting Relationship: Manager of8 East & West
Hourly Rate Range: $36.929 - $37.466
Employee Group: NOWU
Schedule Requirements: 8 & 12 hour Rotating Shifts Days Nights Evenings & Weekends weekends
Location: Wilson Site
Position Responsibilities:
- RPN responsibilities set out by the department.
- Provide care for chronically ventilated and acutely ill patients with respiratory health problems in collaborating with the Registered Respiratory Therapists where necessary
Qualifications:
- Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program.
- Current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current BCLS certification.
- Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities.
- Experience providing care to patients with ventilators tracheostomy central lines complex wounds and feeding tubes is preferred.
- Experience with patient health teaching.
- Demonstrate adherence to the hospitals code of conduct
- Demonstrate competency in a variety of skills including (but not limited to) intramuscular injections intravenous therapy initiation and discontinuation Blood Transfusion Wound Care Dressing Medication Administration etc.
- Minimum 1 year acute medical/surgical experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills and Meditech experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
