Reporting Relationship: Manager of8 East & West
Hourly Rate Range: $36.929 - $37.466
Employee Group: NOWU
Schedule Requirements: 8 & 12 hour Rotating Shifts Days Nights Evenings & Weekends weekends
Location: Wilson Site


Position Responsibilities:

  • RPN responsibilities set out by the department.
  • Provide care for chronically ventilated and acutely ill patients with respiratory health problems in collaborating with the Registered Respiratory Therapists where necessary

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program.
  • Current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities.
  • Experience providing care to patients with ventilators tracheostomy central lines complex wounds and feeding tubes is preferred.
  • Experience with patient health teaching.
  • Demonstrate adherence to the hospitals code of conduct
  • Demonstrate competency in a variety of skills including (but not limited to) intramuscular injections intravenous therapy initiation and discontinuation Blood Transfusion Wound Care Dressing Medication Administration etc.
  • Minimum 1 year acute medical/surgical experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and Meditech experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
