We are seeking Marathi Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Marathi an Indo-Aryan language spoken by over 80 million people in India (primarily Maharashtra) and abroad is a priority South Asian language often required in immigration and asylum cases.

Responsibilities

Provide real-time Marathi English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews hearings and official proceedings.
Interpret accurately impartially and with professionalism in immigration asylum and legal contexts.
Maintain strict confidentiality under USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.
Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge interpretation needs.
Participate in training compliance refreshers and quality assurance audits.

Qualifications

Native or near-native fluency in Marathi and English.
2 years of professional interpreting experience (immigration asylum community medical or government strongly preferred).
Familiarity with interpreter ethics confidentiality and cultural awareness.
Excellent communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.
