TheMedical Surgical Unit at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication essential for providing specialized care to critically ill patients. This 33-bed unit operates within a trauma III hospital setting ensuring patients receive optimal medical attention and support.

Qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have a current state LPN license or a current multistate compact license and possess a degree from an accredited nursing school.
Additional requirements include:
LPNs who have the additional skill set and competencies to work in an expanded practice team nursing model must complete annual education timely maintain applicable certifications/competencies and have a satisfactory performance appraisal. Absences in excess of three in a rolling 365-day period will result in the employee becoming ineligible for the LPN Expanded Practice role; at that time the employee will be moved into a regular LPN position and the base rate of pay adjusted to the employees status. The employee may reapply for LPN Expanded Practice role after 6 months.
