Job Summary

Description

Clark College is currently accepting applications for a part-time 75% FTE permanent classified Cashier 4 for the Bookstore. This position supervises part-time cashier and retail team members. This position is generally scheduled to work in person 30 hours a week 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday - Thursday and may be asked to work an occasional Friday or weekend. This position is eligible for benefits.

Position Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise part-time and permanent Checkstand Operators and Retail Clerks.
  • Duties include hiring training reviewing scheduling assisting staff and approving/acting on leave requests.
  • Open the Point-Of-Sale (POS) system monitor system performance and perform updates as applicable.
  • Respond to customer inquiries in person and use Freshworks software regarding bookstore policies and procedures.
  • Prepare daily bank deposits.
  • Perform cashiering functions and supervise approvals/overrides and special purchases/departmental transactions.
  • Maintain store safe and place change orders.
  • Order and maintaining cashiering supplies and select resale items.
  • Prepare and maintain ROA spreadsheets and files.
  • Process sponsored programs online and in-person transactions.
  • Serve as Notary Public.
  • Authorize post voids and special purchase transactions/department charges.
  • Maintain department forms and spreadsheet documentation.
  • Help to establish and comply with the state and local auditor requirements.
  • Participate as active member of store leadership team and may serve on other store & college committees.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of retail and/or customer service experience.
  • One (1) year of retail lead experience.
  • Microsoft Office experience include Excel experience.

  • Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically culturally and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
  • The initial appointment will include a 6-month probationary period and the employee will earn permanent status after
  • successfully completing probation.

SALARY/BENEFITS:

Salary Range:$2429.25-$3224.25/month based on 75% FTE Step A-M Range: 37 Code: 149H

Successful candidates typically start at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases.
