Job Summary

80% IT support
  • Image new/used computers as they come in
  • Provide support for general computing questions and problems end users may face (WiFi email Office 365 Outlook etc.)
  • Assist with and troubleshoot basic account management issues
  • Assist with issues through ticketing software Freshservice
  • Update IT knowledgebase as required
  • Update Technology Inventory as needed
  • Provide remote assistance to users
20% Other duties
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

Work Schedule
Monday-Friday between the hours of 8 am-5 pm 10-20 hours a week in blocks of time

  1. Experience working in a customer service/office support environment.
  2. Six months of experience demonstrating the ability to work both independently and as part of a team as evidenced in application materials.
  3. Experience troubleshooting for the following operating system(s): Windows Mac OS iOS Android as evidenced in application materials.
  4. Experience with basic computer hardware and software troubleshooting.
  5. Experience with a ticketing system (Service Now Freshservice ZenDesk OS Ticket FreshDesk TDX etc.)
  6. Experience working with Conference room Audio/Video equipment in conjunction with Zoom Teams etc.


Position Overview
The Center for Public Partnerships and Research (CPPR) a designated center within The Achievement & Assessment Institute (AAI) seeks a student hourly employee to assist with IT support. CPPRs IT team fosters and strengthens relationships between CPPR staff their technology needs as well as the greater KU IT Community.

CPPR specializes in research and evaluation data science projects and social innovation work that supports our mission to optimize the well-being of children youth and families. CPPR primarily pursues its mission by assisting partners including state-level and community-based organizations in their work to secure funding bring key stakeholders to the table orchestrate large-scale data efforts and conduct research and evaluation. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about social change for good.

Individuals selected for this position will be provided a university-issued laptop and other IT equipment as needed to ensure their ability to work.

  1. During the semester term of the appointment the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
  2. Availability to work at least 10-20 hours a week in blocks of time. Schedule to be determined with supervisor.
  3. Must have transportation to work off campus.


Employment Conditions
(1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.

(2) This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
