Job Summary

We are working closely alongside with local authority in Camden to assist with the appointment of a Recycling Advisor on a 1.5-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 17.27- 22.59 per hour

Summary:

The Recycling Advisor is a key public-facing role working on behalf of the North London Waste Authority (NLWA) serving two million residents across seven boroughs. The primary mission of this role is to preserve resources and the environment for future generations. The roles main focus is to increase participation in the Authoritys recycling service and reduce recycling contamination by directly engaging with residents and businesses. This involves property surveys door-to-door visits advice and education campaigns to help residents reduce waste and recycle more effectively. NLWA staff are employed by London Borough of Camden and benefit from Camdens HR policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with residents through door-to-door visits community events and roadshows to promote food recycling packaging recycling and general waste reduction.
  • Provide tailored advice and practical information to residents about the correct use of recycling services.
  • Conduct surveys and assessments of residential properties to understand current recycling behaviours and identify barriers to participation.
  • Support communication campaigns and social media content by feeding in local insights and examples.
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the grade as may reasonably be required.

Essentials:

  • Good general education (e.g. GCSEs or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in public engagement community outreach or education particularly involving door-to-door or face-to-face interaction.
  • Experience in conducting surveys or assessments and maintaining accurate records.
  • Experience in or knowledge of the waste and recycling sector or environmental campaigns is highly desirable.
