The 267-bed hospital offers major medical services including a Level II Trauma Center as well as specialized Cardiovascular Care Stroke Care Orthopedics Neurological Surgery Comprehensive Cancer Care Maternity Care and da Vinci Robotic Surgery. Job Summary and Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:
The incumbent is responsible for specimen procurement and dispatch. The incumbent is also responsible for department support in processing and microbiology. The incumbent may be assigned other relevant duties in support of the Laboratory.
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- One year of acute care experience (includes NICU Pediatrics Critical Care Patients) as a Phlebotomist; may consider candidates with less experience if no qualified applicants apply.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of CA state approved phlebotomy license program.
- Must have a current CPT1 License.
- BLS through an American Heart Association provider
- Typing organizational skills knowledge of computers ability to accurately enter data follow policy and procedure ability to remain calm and function efficiently during difficult or emergency situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AA Degree in related field.
