These position will perform a variety of clerical and technical functions both as In-Court Clerks and as Criminal Clerks in support of court -Court Clerk duties will include preparing the courtroom for hearings receiving and marking exhibits maintaining witness lists calendaring necessary hearings and preparing and distributing court paperwork. The incumbents will be responsible for keeping accurate log notes and ensuring a clear recording of the hearing is produced. Criminal Clerk duties will include receiving complaints citations indictments petitions to revoke probation dismissals and motions. The incumbents will review the documents for proper form calendar cases at the request of parties and prepare and distribute orders. You will prepare jury rooms update juror records print scanned questionnaires for jurors requesting deferral and excusal prepare and distribute written jury schedules prepare sign-in sheets for jury selection track jury attendance and prepare orders for jurors who do not appear.


Civil Clerk duties will include receiving a variety of court forms verifying completeness of filings and accepting fees as appropriate. The incumbents will set up case files enter computer data and issue process in the form of summons warrants and orders to show cause. Additional duties include calendaring civil hearings and jury trials as required review audit reports disburse funds and assist other staff members as needed.


As a Court Case Manager 2 you will respond to inquiries in writing in person or by telephone from attorneys litigants court personnel judges and the general public.


The Work Hours
Full-time court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of advanced clerical work experience equivalent to a Court Case Manager 1 with the Alaska Court System or an equivalent position with another employer.

OR

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND completion of a two-year paralegal curriculum from an accredited institution.

OR

A bachelors degree from an accredited college.
