As an Operating Engineer you will be responsible for operating maintaining troubleshooting and repairing critical building systems and facility equipment. You will demonstrate expertise in at least one core trade (Electrical HVAC Piping/Plumbing or Central Utility Plant Operations) and apply multi-skilled capabilities across other disciplines as needed. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering long-term career potential.
Key Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and repair on Mechanical Plumbing Electrical Fire/Life Safety Control Systems and Structural elements to ensure facility performance and safety
Monitor inspect calibrate and clean HVAC systems and associated equipment to ensure optimal operation
Maintain accurate equipment readings and make necessary adjustments to sustain proper function
Execute preventative maintenance programs and maintain parts and supply inventories
Ensure safe handling storage and disposal of hazardous materials
Monitor and oversee the quality and cost-effectiveness of work completed by external contractors
Conduct periodic inventory checks on tools and instruments
Identify and report safety hazards and recommend corrective actions
Adhere to all company and facility safety procedures and policies
Maintain a clean safe and organized work area at all times
Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
24 years of experience in facilities maintenance or commercial building systems
Strong knowledge of Mechanical Electrical Plumbing and HVAC systems
Ability to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently
EPA 608 Type II Certification
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong communication and organizational skills
