In this position...
Design and Release Engineering Role supporting the development of Steering Systems that meet highest quality and functional requirements. Validate and release mechanical hardware designs for current production and/or forward model steering systems in major and minor Ford programs.
Responsibilities
What youll do...
Mechanical Design and Release Position Duties
Work with suppliers to develop design and release EPAS mechanicals (gear assist mechanism)
Communicate with Suppliers Vehicle Dynamics Vehicle Program Management CAD designers release analysts etc to get changes processed.
Problem solve design manufacturing and quality issues
Responsible for failure mode avoidance documentation (boundary diagrams P-diagrams DFMEAs etc.)
Sign-off drawings DVPs PVPs DVP&Rs PVP&Rs
Qualifications
Youll have...
BS degree (Four-Year Technical/Engineering BS Undergraduate Degree Required Advanced Degree Desirable)
3 years of work experience
Even better you may have...
Adept at math and comfortable with learning new concepts
Computer-literate (Excel; Word; PowerPoint; etc.)
Strong leadership skills inherent self-starter self-motivated and strong drive for results
Problem solving skills
Project management skills
Strong oral/written communication skills
Failure mode avoidance skills
At least two years of automotive-related experiences
Ability to travel and support Ford Motor Company final assembly plants and component supplier plants when required
