About the role
Were looking for an epic React Native engineer with a product-obsessed mindset and the ability to lead-someone who cares about what we build and why. This is a rare chance to solve hard mobile problems at scale.
As a lead youll be across our iOS and Android app experience end-to-end-TypeScript React Native and the native bridges that make it work. Youll be hands-on and collaborative; shipping features improving performance hardening offline behaviour and shaping how we work. We care about how you think and act: curious thoughtful practical and someone who takes absolute ownership.
What youll do
- Lead the architecture and implementation of core React Native features including native modules/bridges where it makes sense.
- Bring a strong product lens - youll work closely with design and product to make smart trade-offs and ship high-impact features fast.
- Use AI tools (e.g. Claude Cursor) to boost quality and speed without sacrificing readability or tests.
- Drive app performance from every angle - The Halter app has a complex mobile product understanding of how to tune it is an essential skillset.
- Build resilient offline-first flows and graceful error handling for real-world field conditions.
- Evolve our mobile design system and UI patterns.
- Raise the bar through reviews pairing and mentoring.
Youll be great if you
- Are deep in React Native and have strong opinions on mobile architecture (navigation state module boundaries).
- Think like a product engineer-customer outcomes first clean code in service of that.
- Know when to go native and how to design stable bridges.
- Have shipped complex React Native apps in cross-functional teams.
- Thrive in fast-moving ambiguous environments.
- Understand performance deeply accessibility testing and maintainability.
- Bonus: experience with CodePush App Store releases at scale design systems and mentoring mobile engineers.
- A degree is a bonus not a requirement
