Dispatcher
Date: October 1 2025
Reports to: Director of Transportation
Supervises: N/A
Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Job Goal: Provide safe and efficient transportation to allow students to access the districts curriculum and extra curricular programs.
Employment Terms: 10-month contract - 6.25 hours
FLSA Classification: Nonexempt
Evaluation: Annually by Director of Transportation
Physical Demands: This is an overview intended for compliance with the ADA it is not an exhaustive list of the duties to be performed. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of a specific position.
Regular Requirements: Sit for extended periods; twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach at below and above shoulder level repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and/or operate equipment; lift/move up to 15 pounds
Occasional Requirements: Walk reach with hands and arms overhead above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 50 pounds
Visual Requirements: Close distance color peripheral depth perception ability to adjust focus
Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information
Customer Contacts:
Internal: Transportation personnel maintenance staff and school personnel
External: Students parents and the public.
Essential Job Functions - (Majority of duties performed but not meant to be all inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned as necessary):
- Use two-way radio communication to provide time-sensitive information to drivers.
- Use the telephone to communicate with parents and school personnel.
- Assist internal customers for pickup of school vehicles
- Precise written communication to maintain log for future reference
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Look up student contact/address information to verify student drop off/pick up information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (i.e. Word Excel)
- Coordinate emergency communication between bus drivers and emergency services (Police fire ambulance etc.)
- Assist the Transportation Director and office staff in carrying out their regular duties.
- Other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director
