The tribe DevEx and System Engineering delivers the core capabilities of the One Engineering System at ING which enhances developer productivity improves system performance and establishes a collaborative and innovative engineering culture this leads to more efficient operations higher-quality software and a more agile and resilient organisation.

The team

The Product Manager will create the vision and drive the delivery of engineering products and related Golden Path templates to enable ING Engineers globally to speed up their software delivery and create state-of-the-art differentiating business solutions. System Engineering focuses on standardisation of the software development and operations of the most common software archetypes used within ING. This role focuses on microservices related products like API SDK / Merak removing all the toil and generic concerns so consuming product teams in the different ING entities can focus on their specific business challenge to solve.

Roles and responsibilities

We are looking for the following skills for the position:

  • 10 years of experience in the industry

  • You take the lead to create a vision and strategy on engineering products for software archetypes like microservices and you translate the vision in a roadmap

  • You are the primary contact to our stakeholders. You align with stakeholders like IT and Engineering leads in the different countries to gather their feedback and needs by organising user panels demo sessions and webinars

  • You discover potential new features and opportunities write business cases and get support in the organisation to develop these

  • You provide vision and direction to development teams removing impediments and ensuring work focuses on maximising consumer value

  • You lead the product planning process creating realistic release plans and managing stakeholder expectations for the delivery of new features

  • You guide and coach the technical product owners and DevOps squads for your product

  • You are on top of all the market developments and you share relevant insights and developments with area members and other colleagues inside or outside the Tribe

  • You report to the Product Area Lead of System Engineering within Engineering & Reliability

  • You have excellent stakeholder management skills

  • You have excellent communication skills. Whether you are facing an IT person or a Business person: you speak their language

  • With your colleagues you are able to breakdown complex matters into tangible and executable product roadmaps creating a shared vision on the direction of your product with others and develop strategic roadmaps

  • You have experience with technical (IT) developments and digitisation

  • You have experience and/or affinity with the development and operation of AI-based solutions

  • You have achieved results in delivery in an agile working environment

  • You have a strong organisational sensitivity; ability to understand and take into account the underlying issues opportunities and dynamics of an organisation

  • You are able to take responsibility steer strategy and realisations based on facts and data

  • You will strengthen the ING way of working while promoting the Orange Code as a role model

  • You are pro-actively asking for feedback and dont hesitate to give feedback to others

  • You are fluent in English both in writing and speech

  • You have a bachelors degree or higher
