Primary Purpose of the Position
The GSE Mechanic will be required to inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles (Ground Support Equipment) as well as make repairs to diesel engines hydraulic electrical and mechanical systems. The GSE Mechanic will work closely with the Operations Manager and Line Service Department to provide safe mechanically sound GSE equipment and facilities.


Essential Functions

  • Comply with and ensure accountability for Company policies and procedures related to GSE standards safety and security procedures.
  • Establish implement and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for sites fleet of ground service equipment and fuel farm.
  • Perform repairs on downed equipment.
  • Maintain stock of necessary parts and fluids in accordance with the PMS and consistent with guidance from the Operations Manager and General Manager
  • Oversee QC program in accordance with local state and federal regulations.
  • Perform facility maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain parts and tools inventories.
  • Ensure a culture that promotes first class customer service and safety through daily observations shift briefings routine audits usage of Baldwin SMS monthly service/safety meetings training and documented service/safety procedures.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal customers and business partners.
  • Additional duties as directed by the Operations Manager or General Manager from time to time.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires three (3) years of progressive management experience including maintenance of FBO equipment.
  • Ability to operate a multitude of aircraft ground support equipment (ie: Tug tow bars GPU air start floor machine belt loader LAV cart forklift)
  • Must have a strong commitment to results
  • Must possess computer knowledge in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Customer service experience
  • FBO/Aviation experience
  • Forklift experience preferred

Reports to: Operations Manager


Supervisory Responsibility: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


FLSA Status: This position is nonexempt.


Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions including extreme heat and cold; high precarious places; outside weather conditions and vibration; chemicals including aviation fuels oils and lavatory fluid. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.


Travel: This position requires minimal travel.


Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform frequent walking sitting stooping stretching bending reaching and grasping actions. May be required to work nights and weekends.
